    Audio Interface Setup

It would be real helpful, if you could create a "training video" regarding actual setup. From Computer to, Audio Interface to Midi Controller to mixer/soundboard. How things plug in and how they are ran. This is obvious for most folks but it would be real helpful for a lot as well. Your training videos are very helpful. My question is, If I have a sound-guy what is my best option, to have him control the volume of the tracks from his end, or me having a mixer on-stage? I am a guitar player, I lead some songs, but mostly play lead, I have the Behringer Foot Controller, so having a mixer probably wouldn't be the best option, maybe that would be better suited for a keyboard player ect. How is the audio interface ran to the house? How does the sound get to the house? I use a Motu 828 mkII. Thanks for all the help. Jon

    Re: Audio Interface Setup

Great question Jon!  We'll have some new training videos up soon.  Definitely run the tracks from the stage.  Consider them another instrument... you'll need to communicate with the other musicians and if you have in ears, check out the Pro Co Panic Button (A/B box) for a way to run your mic to the house through the A channel but split your mic line through the B channel and put that channel in your musicians ears and talk them through the tracks and transitions.

You can run from the laptop on a stand near you or use a midi foot controller.  I recommend the Roland FC 300 or the Ability Foot Controller from Younfx.com  If you can get the Behringer to work that's great, but we had some trouble a couple years ago.  Check out the pull down menus on our training page for detailed info on the setup instructions.

Of course you run the sound out of your audio interface to your sound board and mix appropriately to your bands in ears and monitors.  Just make sure the person running the tracks and the drummer are receiving the click through in ears to stay in time.
