    audio skipping

    Qeustion for anyone out there:

I'm using a mac book pro 4gig ram. external 7200 rpm 8mb buffer fire wire hard disk daisy chained.  first to maudio 410 them to the external drive. Folllowed video to turn off services not needed such as screen saver, wifi, turned off blue tooth as well.

Every so often not in any predictable way, I will hear the audio skip as if accessing the disk drive.  With 4 gig ram , I would think most has already been loaded?

Anyway I feel like I may be missing something and was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions to try.  Is there some type of buffer setting that i'm missing?

Thanks again, this rocks, can't wait to take it live.

I would check the buffer settings in your audio preferences in Ableton Live and increase them just a bit.  Play with different setting and find what will work for your computer.  Make sure you've shut down your other programs while you're running Live.

    All the best!

I wouldn't daisy chain... it would be better to use a hub. Belkin makes one.
